Sermon Graphics and Posters for Growing Temecula Church - Sunridge Community Church
Categories: Brand & IdentitySunridge Community Church is a growing church in California’s Temecula Valley. With a mission of “Helping People Find and Follow Jesus”, the church is always looking for ways to creatively get the word out to their community about what’s happening there. One way they had been doing this was by creating graphics for each sermon series and for major church events to help brand them, giving each event and series a visual identity of its own.
Sunridge had been creating the graphics in-house, using several different staff members, but they soon came to realize this was not a good use of time for their busy staff. They turned to Modmacro for help.
Modmacro had already been working with Sunridge for digital marketing, so we were no strangers to the church and the look and feel they were going for in the design of their marketing materials. Our graphic design team was able to seamlessly take over the creation of sermon series and event graphics and free up the church staff to focus on the ministry of the church. Not only that, the graphics now have a more consistent look, since they are being designed by the same team every time.
The graphics are used on the church’s website, their social media platforms, in their weekly emails, and they are also turned into posters, which are placed in the hallways of the church. Those attending Sunday services can now see what the current sermon series is, as well as what series and events are coming up. In addition, the display of past sermon series posters provides a visual history for all to see.
The poster we created for their series titled “Gideon: When Life Is Bigger Than You” was the winner of a Bronze award in the 2019 Horizon Interactive Awards competition in the Print: Poster Design category.
"Interestingly, when we first lost our very talented in-house graphics person to another organization, we thought we could continue to make our graphics in-house with our existing staff. We quickly found out how heavily we relied on graphics as a way to convey, beyond words, our message. We also found that we were spending more time than we had to create these images and generate them in all of the formats we needed, like high res images for large screen projection, web enabled, poster sized, and social media friendly. Fortunately, we have a great relationship with the team at Modmacro and they provided an excellent solution that allows us to continue our history of high-quality graphic images in all the formats we require. We simply provide the Modmacro team with a general feel of what we are looking for, sometimes providing detail of the sermon, other times giving a specific vision, or even if we just ask them to use their gifts to create something special, Modmacro provides us with great options. I have always appreciated how the team at Modmacro takes the time to understand our needs and how they can best partner with us so we can stay focused on our mission and vision. -Bob Santy, Executive Pastor of Operations
