Recently, Modmacro CEO Matthew Smith was interviewed by writer Meg Hall of NCR Silver for an article on their website about microsites and how they can benefit small businesses. NCR Silver is a company that has developed point of sale products used by small businesses around the world. They regularly release articles on their site on topics of interest to small business owners. For this piece on microsites, the writer tapped into Matt’s expertise as the owner of a web design and digital marketing company to produce this informative piece on the benefits of microsites for small businesses.
At Modmacro, we regularly produce microsites for our small business clients with more limited web design budgets, such as startup companies. Microsites are basically websites that are smaller in scale than most business websites. A microsite may consist of only a homepage and a contact page; however, these sites can be designed in a way that makes them scalable, allowing a small business to add more information and pages as the company, and its marketing budget, grows.
With a microsite, a business still gets a well-designed website that gives them a professional web presence and speaks to their targeted customers or clients, but at about half the price of a typical small business website. As Matt said in the article, a microsite requires “the same level of attention to detail when it comes to the website design, the copy that we’re crafting, the on-page SEO of the site, etc. It’s just that we’re doing less of everything because it’s a smaller site.”
Another benefit to a microsite is that it can be completed in a relatively short amount of time. If you’re anxious to bring your products or services to market, getting a microsite online quickly and then adding to it as time goes on is probably a better option than hastily producing a large website that then needs to be completely redone later.
We’d like to thank NCR Silver for the opportunity to help inform small business owners about the benefits of microsites and commend them on a well-written article.
