Modmacro is pleased to announce that our CEO, Matthew Smith has been chosen to be one of the members of the jury panel for the 2018 Vega Awards. The Vega Digital Awards is an international competition that honors excellence in digital media and receives thousands of submissions from companies, individuals, and institutions all over the world.
The jury panel for the Vega Awards is a diverse group, with members from North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia, representing various aspects of the digital and creative industry. They come from private agencies, public institutions, in-house marketing departments, and academic settings.
Individuals can be nominated (or nominate themselves) to serve on the jury panel for the Vega Awards, but Matt was invited to be a judge directly by the award’s organizers. This will be his third year as a jury panel member. He will be judging works submitted in the website, digital marketing, and social media categories, since that’s where his expertise lies.
Here’s what Matt had to say about judging for the Vega Awards:
It’s such an honor to be asked to be one of the judges for this prestigious creative competition. Having been on the other side of these types of competitions as the one whose projects were being judged, it’s great see what goes into the judging process. It’s also interesting to see what others are doing in the world of online marketing, and inspiring to see the amount of talent that exists in other parts of the world.”
Even though Matt is a judge, Modmacro is still allowed to enter our work in the competition, since the jury panel doesn’t judge any of the work in categories in which they have their own entries. In addition, all judging for the Vega Awards is blind, meaning jury panelists don’t know who submitted the work they are judging. This helps the competition maintain its reputation for being unbiased and fair.
Modmacro has been the recipient of multiple Vega Awards for our websites over the years. You can see the entire list of our industry awards here.
