A couple of Saturdays ago, the Modmacro staff attended TEDxTemecula, a day-long event featuring local individuals who shared their ideas and talents, with the purpose of exploring what’s possible in the community of Temecula and the world.
Modmacro was proud to be a sponsor of TEDxTemecula this year. We appreciate their focus on giving a platform to those with innovative ideas, and we wanted to support that effort. At Modmacro, we like to think we are an innovative web design and marketing firm, so it seemed like a natural fit for us to get involved.
The day started with several speakers and then broke for a delicious lunch provided by E.A.T. in Temecula. The afternoon featured more speakers, as well as some entertainment provided by a local musician and a juggler.
We were particularly impressed with one speaker—16-year-old Isabella Martinez, who has started her own nonprofit organization, Net4Seniors, that connects teens with seniors to teach them how to utilize technology to better connect with their friends, families, and the world. We also enjoyed Rob Crisell, a local teacher who spoke on “How NOT to Hate Shakespeare.”
At the conclusion of the conference, we attended the speaker reception, where we were able to mingle and chat with a good number of the day’s speakers. This was a definite highlight of the day, as all of the speakers we spoke with were very personable and willing to answer any questions we had. The reception also had delicious appetizers and local wine selections.
Overall, it was a great day. The Modmacro team had a great time hanging out together, as well as meeting some new people that share our desire to make our community and our world a better place.
